Guest Post | The Best Neutral Palettes

When it comes to eyeshadow I'm not very experimental. I hardly wear it and when I do, I tend to stick to the same neutral colours. The very idea of wearing a colour that isn't a version of brown or taupe gets me a little upset. I don't know where I got this fear of eyeshadow from as as a child I used to spend hours experimenting with different versions of blue and pink, but now in my adult life I stick to browns and beige's. Due to my love of neutrals I have a few neutral eyeshadow palette's kicking around, and here's my top pick of choices.

MUA's Heaven and Earth Palette is probably what started my whole love affair. I remember it coming out and creating quite a hype with people comparing it to the Naked Palette (something I didn't have at the time). Considering at the time I was fairly new to the world of eyeshadows and it only cost £4 I decided to pick it up and see what it was like. I then spent the next 6 months religiously wearing this as the pigmentation was amazing for such a cheap palette. There's also a good variety of light and dark browns, and matte and shimmer shades, so you can create a variety of different looks.

I then decided it was time to move on to the Naked Palette as it was a staple item in everyone's make up collections, and somewhat of a cult product. Although the Naked Palette is again a neutral palette, there are a few different pinky/purple/blue shades available towards the end of the palette (which I have never actually touched). Since discovering this I've found it's my most reached for palette when I wear eyeshadow. It has some brilliant colours available to create a smokey eye look, and a few softer shades for an everyday neutral eye.

When the Naked Basics palette came out I knew I had to have it. By this point I'd developed a full blown affair with neutral eyeshadows, and of course I needed more. I debated buying this for a while, and in the end two of my lovely friends bought me this for my birthday. As someone who's not very experiemental with eyeshadow and tends to only wear a few colours, this palette feels like it was made just for me. A palette with 6 eyeshadow choices is enough for me, and infact I wear all of these colours all the time - whether I want a smokey eye or just a touch of eyeshadow, it's perfect.
