Haul review

Dear lord, I have been shopping so much the last couple of weeks.

I've been ordering a lot of pretty clothes, lingerie, sheets, carpets, pillow cases, pillows, shoes, but most of all beauty products. I discovered some great products. Some of these I had to look for online but it was worth all the time and extra costs.

Let me tell you what I've discovered:

Clinique eyeshadow quad in Ticklish

How I love these shades and how I always wished for a palette that brought them together while I could afford it! It's around 40 euros but well worth it because this is a piece of eye candy. In daylight it gives the eyes a very colourful look. It comes with a sleek mirror and a transparant sticker over it to tell you how to use the colors, which you can leave on or keep on the mirror. The eyeshadow itself is well pigmented and soft, easy to blend and doesn't crumble.

Clinique Airbrush

I thought nothing could beat my modest Maybelline Dream Concealer in 002, but this concealer from Clinique is just a tiny bit better. It does feel a lot more like airbrushing. While the Maybelline one feels more like a face cream, this concealer feels more like a light lotion, while it's still well pigmented. Quality is very important in eye concealers because you should be using the least amount possible while still covering as much as you can.

The Balm - Instain in Strawberry

Last year I came across the most divine blush I had ever seen, something called Angelique by Guerlain. I could find the meteorite version of it but I was looking for the compact version and I never found it again. It must have been part of a spring collection. When I saw this The Balm blush I felt so sad that I didn't buy that angelic blush last year. The shade sort of reminded me of it: a bit red, coral... it looks quite strong and even clown like, I agree, but when I swiped over it with my finger it looked very sheer and natural, a little glowy, so I couldn't resist buying it, even though it was almost half the price of a Guerlain product...

Update: I think the Guerlain blush only came in meteorite version and was called Angelic Radiance. Here it is:

I want to buy it still! Ebay here I come! Wallet, don't try to hide!

Clinique Chubby Stick for lips in Super Strawberry

More strawberry... and again it's a shade that doesn't look like strawberry at all. This is a very sheer lip balm stick that gives a nice old rose sort of colour touch to the lips. It looks very light and fresh. I had to order it online because it wasn't available at Ici Paris or Inno...

Guerlain Rouge Automatique Extrait de Rose

I bought my first ever Guerlain lipstick a few days ago, when I finished my last obligatory exams in law school, just to reward myself for my effort no matter what the results were going to be. I was finally free and I wanted to do what I want. I bought the most flashy lipstick Guerlain had to offer, the Extrait de Rose, which kind of reminded me of a BB lip balm or a lip glow, only better. It contains a lot of shimmer and makes the lips look very bright and shiney. It might look a bit too flashy on me and it's not my favourite shade i the world, but I just adore it because it symbolises my freedom, plus, the packaging is amazing. You only have to pull down the Guerlain symbol on the container and the lipstick pops up. The only con is that the lipstick itself looks a bit small.

Maybelline Brow Palette

I've recently grown my eyebrows back completely after becoming tired of:

Plucking, losing tweezers, product gliding off bald spots, looking unnatural, buying wrong colors, spending money on something like brows, having people noticing it, not being able to make eyebrows look thick again, overplucking, looking for my brow pencils. This brow pencil was a last "twitch" in order to try and look natural, and it was quite good, but I don't think I could draw nice fine hairs with this. I need a needle sharp hard pencil in a light brown color to do the trick.

Guerlain KissKiss in Baby Rose 368

Because I love my first Guerlain lipstick so much I bought the Baby Rose on from eBay after seeing these lovely swatches. It does look this lovely on my lips, actually. And I got it for only 30 euros which is 10 euros cheaper than retail price. The tube is a bit of a con for me thought, the cap is one black cube and the container itself is another two black cubes, so it just looks like three little black cubes stacked on top of each other, it's not very cute.

Mac Satin Lipstick in Amorous

I love stain lipsticks. I've been buying so many creamy and pearly lipsticks lately that I forgot how wonderful a nice solid satin lipstick can be. I was inspired to buy this "Amorous" shade because my all time best flattering lip color is actually a cancelled color called "Rimmel Stare At Me 250". It was a medium dark mysterious clay red. I looked for a dupe and found this picture only claiming that the Mac one was identical. Thank you stranger! I found Amorous online and bought two of them! I'm thrilled!

This is the comparison. On the left is Rimmel and on the right is Mac.

Nars Sheer Lipstick in Dolce Vita

This shade is a cult classic and was used by Liv Tyler in the movie Jersey Girl according to makeup411. I love Liv Tyler and I always try to look like her. I have already written on article on her Armageddon look and one on her outfits, which you can find on this blog. This shade is creamy, earthy, dusty pink and very flattering for a date.

Here she is, the most beautiful woman in the world, looking all natural with a ton of makeup on :'(

Physician's Formula - Organic Wear mascara

I wanted an organic mascara to be a bit more easy on my eyes, so I invested in this reasonably expensive mascara for a drugstore brand. The problem is, it hardly adds mascara to my lashes and it comes off by just batting my eyes and just stains the lot. I didn't know mascaras like these still existed. I would avoid it;

Benefit - Pore Eraser

Since my stupid country doesn't sell Maybelline pore minimizer baby skin or whatever, I had to get this cult product because there wasn't on alternative. But I'm happy because I can use this product both under and over my makeup. It's soft and blends well, is transparant, makes pores disappear and takes shine away. Compared to the horrible Garnier Blur, this product doesn't slide anywhere, it sort of adheres to the skin. I can recommend it!

Schwarzkopf shampoo for dry and brittle hair with fig oil

I found this product on Barberstore.eu and it seemed nice, my favourite colour is light purple so I really wanted this on my bathroom counter. The product itself is also nice ;) I need quite a bit before I have all my long hair washed but it's worth it. My hair is more soft and souple since I tried this.

So, that was (most of) my latest beauty haul! Hope you enjoyed it!

x

Helena
