FOTD // A little of the old 'n' a little of the new

A couple of weeks ago I was having a play with a few newer additions to my make up routine so I thought I'd turn it into a Face of the Day post as it's been a hot minute (more like 6+ months) since my last FOTD post.

I went for a relatively bronzed and somewhat natural look using a range of gorgeous products, go let's get into it!

For my base I primed with Rimmel London's Fix & Protect Makeup Primer* and followed it up with their Match Perfection Invisible Coverage Foundation* in #100 Ivory. I whipped out my Clarins Instant Concealer for under my eyes and my Make Up For Ever Full Coverage Concealer to attempt to spot concealer any blemishes. Lastly for the face, I pressed MAC's Blot Pressed Powder (not shown) all over to set the concealer and lock everything in!

To warm up the face I used NARS' Laguna Powder Bronzer from their Steven Klein One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette (not shown) around the perimeter of face. I also used a tiny bit of the contour shade from NARS' Contour Duo in Paloma, also in the Steven Klein One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette. Max Factor's Cream Puff Blush in Nude Mauve is a great neutral blush with a natural looking highlighted effect so I buffed that over my cheeks.

A combination of Chi Chi's Brow Pomade in Taupe and ModelCo's More Brows Brow Thickening Gel in Light/Medium was used to create these brows. I took step-by-step photos to create a specific brow post so that's coming soon but I basically filled and defined the brows with the pomade and set them in place with the brow gel.

My eyeshadow has been creasing lately so the first step of this eye look was to prime with Too Faced's Shadow Insurance. I knew I wanted to use the By Terry Ombre Blackstar Cream Eyeshadows as a base for the eye look so I used Blonde Opal on the inner half and dotted Bronze Moon on the outer half.

It's a little difficult telling which MAC eyeshadows in my custom palette I used for this eye look but I believed I used Soft Brown in the crease, buffed a combination of Jest and Wood Winked all over the lid and then worked Charcoal Brown in into the outer corner to define the look. As always, a small amount of Nylon was used in the inner corer and I used Ricepaper under my brow bone.

The eye look needed a bit more definition and thin line MAC's Teddy Eye Kohl  on the upper lash line and lower waterline worked perfectly. Two mascaras were used; Max Factor's Masterpiece Transform for the upper lashes and MAC's Extended Play Lash for the lower lashes.

For lips I whipped out one of the newest lipsticks in my collection, It Cosmetics' Blurred Lines Lipstick in Love. This lipstick is on the more sheer side so it's not one I needed a lip liner for and I think it worked really well with the look.

I really love this look. I think it's totally daytime appropriate and pretty summery, even though I hate warm weather. All the colours work well together and when creating this look I was so impressed with how all the products, even the ones I was testing for the first time, worked together. Thank goodness!

Face of the Day posts are pretty fun ones for me so if there's a certain look that you'd like to see, let me know and I'll do my best!
